Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
Mental health is an increasingly prominent issue in organisations around the world, with a recognition that poor mental health can negatively impact on our health, wellbeing and productivity. With around 15% of us experiencing mental health issues in the workplace, many businesses are looking to provide support through awareness training and other schemes.
This course is an introduction to the issue of mental health in the workplace, with the aim of providing learners with basic skills to identify and address problems. Successful candidates will be able to identify suspected mental health conditions and will have developed the skills to start conversations and signpost colleagues towards professional help.
As a basic grounding in how to acknowledge and address issues of mental health in the workplace, the course is suitable for any and all employees across a range of industries. Rather than creating a culture of vigilance, Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health training aims to build understanding among colleagues, and create a more positive and open climate around mental health.
