A Guide to Mentoring Sports Coaches
Mentoring is a powerful tool in the education and development of sports coaches at all levels.
If you are interested in developing your skills in the area of mentoring other coaches, and want to share your knowledge and experience with other coaches, then this workshop is for you.
The workshop will help you support coaches’ learning and focus on how learning occurs. The tools you will be shown will help you record the relationships built through mentoring programmes and are adequately flexible to fit within any mentoring framework.

The 76-page book provides a framework for mentoring, with guidelines for developing a meaningful relationship.
Section One: Provides a general introduction to mentoring.
Sections Two to Five: Focus on practical mentoring skills and activities that will help you build relationships and rapport, including observation, feedback, active listening, body language and questioning techniques.
Sections Six and Seven: More in-depth knowledge to inform your mentoring practice, including developing our own preferred learning style and the process of reflection and self-reflection.
Section 8: Will help you to explore how you might develop your mentor profile and practice.
